Using the Navigation Pane and Toolbar

 

If you want to display the content window without the navigation pane in view, you can hide the navigation pane using the toolbar. This allows the content window to display across the entire screen.

 

1. Click the button to hide the navigation pane.
2. Once the navigation pane is hidden, click again to display the navigation pane. The navigation pane will display to the left of the screen.

 

 

1. Open the topic you want to add to your Favorites.
2. Click the on the star icon located at the top left of the screen view to add a topic to your Favorites.
3. The topic has now been saved to your Favorites folder. You can access the topic by clicking on it in your Favorites folder.

 

Throughout the ILMS help system, many topics utilize drop down effects and expanding text effects to organize information. These effects allow you to view content easily. Topics containing step by step procedures can become lengthy and not all information relating to the topic is needed by every user. Drop down effects and expanding text effects assist in organizing information in the most useful way possible.

 

• Clicking the Expand All button lets you expand all drop-down and expanding text effects in a topic if they are not yet expanded.
• Similarly, the Collapse All button allows you to collapse all drop-down and expanding text effects in a topic if they are expanded.

 

 

1. Click the printer icon to print the currently viewed topic.
2. Click the Print button within the Print Dialog window to print the topic.

 

1. Enter the term in the text box located at the top of the screen view.
2. Click the image of the magnifying glass to perform the search.
3. The searched term will appear as highlighted text only on the page you are viewing.
   1. To remove the search highlighting, click the icon to the right of the magnifying glass.

 

These are similar to buttons used in an internet browser and allow you to navigate easily throughout the ILMS help system topics.

 

• The Back button will return you to the previously viewed page or topic.
• The Forward button allows you to revisit a topic anytime you have used the back option.
• The Stop button will stop the selected page from loading.
• The Refresh button refreshes the currently viewed topic.
• The Home button will return you to the Overview topic.

 

You can use the toolbar to navigate to the next topic and the previous topic in a chapter. You will be taken to the next (or previous) topic located in the section's table of contents.

 

Click the buttons, as indicated in the image below, to navigate to the appropriate screen.

 

Click these buttons to open the Table of Contents, Search and Favorites pane. You can carry out all functions associated with these panes by clicking on the individual buttons.
